Regent Park CHC Pathways is supporting high school students in communities like Regent Park, Moss Park, and Rivertowne. Pathways is vital in fostering their educational and personal growth, providing a variety of supports can significantly impact their academic success and overall well-being.
Programming
Our Support Services Include:
Tutoring: Available four evenings a week after school
Additional Opportunities: A variety of events, workshops, programs, and trips tailored to student interests, in collaboration with external partners and available opportunities
Financial
Financial Support:
Gift Cards: $150 annually, distributed in three $50 rounds (choice of Presto or grocery store gift cards)
Post-Secondary Scholarship: Up to $500 per year, with a maximum of $2,000 available for a post-secondary scholarship

Student Parent Support Worker (SPSW):
Every student is assigned a dedicated Student Parent Support Worker (SPSW)
SPSWs access marks and attendance, while building connections with teachers and school staff
SPSWs offer personalized support, listening to students and connecting them with opportunities that align with their unique life journeys

The space hosts :
The Loft Program
A space for students to come hang out and socialize. You can play board games, watch movies, meet other pathways students, and more
Homework Club
A quiet space for students to drop-in and get their homework done afterschool. We have snacks and supplies students might need to assignments, projects, and more.
1 - to - 1 Tutoring
Students can schedule a time to get one-on-one supports with a tutor. Our tutors include retired teachers, current teacher, university students, and more.

Let our post secondary team be your graduation coaches and more. They've got the dates for application deadlines, they can help you find and apply for scholarships, our post-secondary team schedules campus tours, and socials so our grade 11 and 12s can meet others their age who may be applying to the same universities and programs.

1. Who is eligible to participate in Pathways to Education?
Eligibility: Pathways to Education is available to high school students in Regent Park, Moss Park, and Rivertowne. To register, students must live within the designated catchment area. Proof of address (such as a driver's license or utility bill) is required to confirm residency. If you are unsure whether you qualify, contact the office for more details. 2. How do I apply or sign up for the program?
Application Process: To apply, you need to provide proof of address (such as a utility bill), the student's Ontario Education Number (OEN), and a Student Number (found on the student’s report card or Information Index Card). You will also need access to an email address for completing the registration documents electronically through DocuSign. Visit our Registration page for more information.
3. What kind of tutoring or academic support is available?
Tutoring Options:
Homework Club: A quiet space for students to drop in and complete their homework after school. Snacks and supplies are provided.
1-on-1 Tutoring: Students can schedule time for personalized, one-on-one tutoring sessions with experienced tutors, including retired teachers, current educators, and university students. Tutoring is available four evenings a week.
In-Person Tutoring: Available both as a drop-in service and by scheduled appointments. In-person tutoring takes places on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Virtual Tutoring: Available on Mondays by appointment only, providing flexible support for students who prefer or need remote assistance.
4. Is there a cost to participate in the program?
Cost: There is no cost to participate in the program. In fact, students can benefit from financial support like gift cards and post-secondary scholarships, which are provided to assist with transportation and other needs.
5. Can parents or guardians be involved?
Parent Engagement: Parents can support their child’s involvement by maintaining communication with the Student Parent Support Worker (SPSW) and attending parent-focused events or workshops. Pathways encourages families to stay engaged in the educational journey.
